Since the recent release of Part 1 of our latest investigative series, The V1SUT Vantage has been flooded with communications from whistleblowers reporting new information. It appears Oklahoma public education has a coaching culture problem, and many have been frustrated and further abused by a system unwilling to listen or protect. In light of these reports, the series has been expanded to cover a wider scope of abuses.
Not all who reached out were pleased about the series, which allows victims of abuse to tell their own stories. Part 1 was temporarily taken down to communicate with all those seeking a dialogue. The V1SUT Vantage stands behind the accuracy of the original report as based upon witness and victim statements and interviews, other provided evidence and all included, publicly available information. Part 1 will be back up and available very soon with more installments to follow. We apologize to our readers for the delay.
In the meantime, we thank all who have reached out and commit to vetting the new information you have provided. We strongly encourage all those aware of abuse within public education to make a report within the Oklahoma State Department of Education’s (OSDE) Awareity system. This could include reports of past abuse by someone continuing to teach, work or coach within a school district. Anyone can make an Awareity report, and all have the option of remaining anonymous.
State law also requires all those aware of currently occurring child abuse or neglect to contact the Oklahoma Child Abuse Hotline. No school policy can override that law and telling a school administrator does not fulfill the legal obligation of the individual (mandated reporter) to also contact the hotline.
