Moss Schools Supt Silent Amid Reports of Group Assault in Another OK HS Locker Room
Rural Runaround: District Nepotism Surrounds One of Three Accused Students
(article amended - 2/13/25 8:00 pm)
On January 15, 2025, Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters (R) released a strong statement concerning a sexual assault allegedly perpetrated by three Sperry High School football players. Tulsa County prosecutors have charged all three with rape by instrumentation, and each is ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.
Within Oklahoma’s public schools, the group assault trend is not slowing down. Whistleblowers have informed V1SUT of another group crime in Moss (Hughes County, Oklahoma), this time involving Moss High School basketball players. In tiny Moss, conflicts of interest among school leaders and the accused appear to be thwarting justice.
Given the nature of the crime and ages of the students involved, the names of the reported victim and three alleged perpetrators will not be shared.
The Hughes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has confirmed their recent visit to Moss Schools related to the reported assault but has withheld the associated incident/police report.
According to Ashley Ellis, the HCSO cannot release even a redacted report because “the case is still under investigation”. Under the Open Records Act, withholding that information from the public is not legal.
Following the assault, another player, the child of a Moss Board of Education member, is reported to have cyber-bullied the victim in an attempt to silence him.

That player is also related to the principal of Moss High School.

District administration has been reportedly working to hide and downplay the incident since December. In what appears to be an attempt to silence, the Moss Board of Education has taken direct, retaliatory actions against the reported victim’s parent who is employed by the district. V1SUT can confirm, within votes at two recent meetings, the Moss board removed the parent’s coaching assignments.
The enrollment of Moss Public Schools, at just 243 students in grades PK-12, falls below the 400 student threshold allowing for nepotism or family relationships between district staff and board members in Oklahoma (Title §70-5-113.1). Enacted in 2018, the law has created safety concerns within rural districts, as conflicts of interest go unchecked within investigations of internal misconduct. It may also be fostering criminal behavior by the children of untouchable families within rural districts.
V1SUT reached out to Moss PS superintendent Robin Gann concerning the alleged incident. Gann did not respond.
Prior to becoming superintendent at Moss PS in 2021, Gann worked for more than 15 years in nearby Wetumka Schools as a teacher, counselor and eventually principal under then superintendent Donna McGee. McGee is now a co-defendant within a federal civil lawsuit, along with her husband Brent McGee and the Wetumka school district, for failing to protect male students from sexual abuse and exploitation by her spouse.

Brent McGee, a former Wetumka teacher, coach, head of alternative education and athletic director, is also facing eight (8) felony criminal charges for sexually molesting students for decades in a “pattern of criminal offenses”. McGee survivor Casey Yochum, recorded McGee confessing to abusing him. V1SUT has covered the case extensively (link to reporting).
Failing Moss HS Puts Kids at Risk in More Than One Way
Moss High School has one of the highest per pupil annual expenditure rates in the state at $19,070 (64% higher than state average) yet not one student is proficient in math.

Of the federal money received by Moss in 2023-24, 82.5% was spent on non- instructional expenses outside of the classroom.
Moss High Schools students appear to be at risk both physically and academically.
V1SUT will be following this breaking story closely and will be bringing more information as it becomes available.

This. Is. Horrific. Something is VERY wrong when, in a small community, a group of (alleged) individuals thinks/believes that they can not only SA another individual but then silence them AND get away with the crime. VILE. Can you even IMAGINE how the leaders involved in the (alleged) coverup would react to reading news like this were it purported to come from overseas? I can. And I guarantee you, none of these (alleged) individuals would be sparing with their damnation of the perpetrators. Give the young person who was assaulted a couple years of income from these administrators who are (allegedly) responsible for the coverup ...he'll need that much *just* to pay for the therapy. How can you, as a parent of a child so abused, ever breathe again? Much less as the parent of the (alleged) abuser?
Please continue your reporting. It is absolutely necessary to expose what tries to hide in the shadows. (Allegedly 🙄 /s)
